Like a fine wine…

I must get better with age 🙂

This week marked my 4th sanctioned 300 game bowled.  The 11th frame, I was nervous a bit, and yanked the hell out of the throw and it went Brooklyn for the strike.  I then took another deep breathe and nailed the 12th one like no ones business.

The second game was amazing, not for the game itself, but how it went down.  7 out of 12 strikes for a whopping 192.  I know I’ve never had as many strikes in a single game and didn’t break the 200 mark.  2 Splits, killed me.

So the third game should have been another 300, but finished with a 269.  Series final, 761.  Missed the 800 series too 🙁

Of my 40 years on this earth, the last 6 have produced all the sanctioned 300’s along with my lone 800.  Wine-Bowling

300’s to throw around

300Ring

I was lucky enough to bowl in a Senior-Guest doubles tournament with one of the owners of the local bowling alley, and right out of the gate I shot 300.  The first 11, ya they were not doubt, but the 12th one, I did feel the nerves and I went right through the nose.  Luckily they all fell, very sloppy.  But they did all fall.

That makes 5 total 300’s for my career, with 3 of being fully sanctioned, and 2 thrown in practice.

For the 8 games I averaged 222, so that was OK.  Us as a team, we didn’t make the cut, there was a lot of good bowlers at this tourney.  Onto the next tournament.

Mr700’s (715) finally moves into the 800’s!

800

Well, 33 years in the making, and the most attainable pinnacle of bowling achievements has finally been tackled.  The 800 is now history.  10/2/2012.

The games went like this:

7/ X X X X X X X X X X X for 290 game (11 in a row award)

9/ X 9/ X X 9/ X X X X X X for a 249 game (This game should have been a 300, all ten pins)

9/ X X X 7/ X X X X X X X for a 267 game (Boy was I nervous that 10th frame)

Total : 806

Now that the 300 is done (times 2), and the 800 is out of the way, there isn’t much left personally for me to get.  Yes the 900 series is always out there, but that is just a carrot dangling out there.  I guess to average 230+ for an entire season is the next goal.

Ya me, finally 🙂
